I had hoped I'd be able to get the original authenticator, but alas, I don't live the US so I was never able to. So I was very happy when I heard Battle.net authenticator app would be available on my iphone! . Awesome.
Like Wowinsider, I can report that the authenticator works and is free. The only thing is (if, like me, you didn't have a battle.net account) you'll have to sign up for one and link your World of Warcraft account. Don't worry, it's fast and easy.
